Fantastic stay, all the staff are so friendly

Peter Rance – 28/03/16

Fantastic stay, all the staff are so friendly and professional and the guides and naturalists really know what they are talking about. They made a great difference. Accommodation and food excellent too, especially in the evening meal in the trees by candlelight!

Our tree house was wonderful - tucked away along a private path. It had every amenity possible, with an extremely comfortable bed and well-equipped bathroom. copious amounts of very hot water (how do they do it?!) and its own gorgeous balcony. All the staff were charming, helpful and extremely smart. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and the place ran like clockwork. Oh, and even the food was perfect! Ashish Tirkey, the manager, was lovely and an extremely good guide. Our long term dream of seeing tigers was realised on FIVE occasions, when our guides managed to find us these elusive, magnificent beasts close at hand. The whole experience was beyond words.

Kings Lodge

“Great setting amongst bamboo”

BarbKale Sydney, Australia Reviewed March 2015

We really enjoyed this lodge, our room was large and comfortable and the deck with a view all round of bamboo and trees. Particularly we enjoyed the talks the naturalists gave, the library and the way we were looked after going for the early morning drives, the blankets and hotwater bottle and the breakfast in the Park. Our only downside was we never saw a tiger so we were unlucky. Our guide did his best.

“Refreshing and Comfortable”

espere22 Barrington, Illinois Reviewed 18 February 2016

We stayed three nights in this lovely paradise as we searched for the ever elusive tiger. The rooms are clean and comfortable with either a porch or a balcony. Keep in mind that it can be a 5 minute walk to the rooms furthest from the lodge. The food is excellent and plentiful. It was fun to watch the young artist in residence create. Wifi is available in the area outside the lodge office and it actually worked most of the time!

"Excellent lodge!"

Stayed February 2016, travelled as a couple

We stayed for 3 nights at Tree House Hideaway, the first of a safari holiday in three different national parks. We purposely selected Tree house, as it is a small camp, so we could expect individual attention. As indeed, this was the case. The Tree Houses were beautiful, as most reviewers mentioned, but the cossetting we received from the staff was extra special. The food was lovely (the best of our 3 safari camps) and the appetizers before the main meal exceptional. Wild life documentaries, or, on one of the evenings, a special cultural evening, where the local villagers danced and sang, were very enjoyable, But the main reason most people go on safari in central India , is tigers. Uttam (skilfull, but not too communicative and our driver/naturalist, managed to find one on our very last drive. Seeing a tiger very close up is an unbelievable and unforgettable experience. We also spotted many birds, deer, wild pig and so on. Ashish and Karan were very attentive and helpful, sorting out a problem we had with our driver. Full marks here. There are many safari lodges in this area. But this one stands out for being small, with excellent staff. Highly recommended.

The rooms are incredible, the staff is absolutely AMAZING, food is delicious. They grow most of their own vegetables and they feed you non-stop. We had an unbelievable time. Our safari guide was very knowledgeable; everything was always very prompt and on time. Staff was the greatest part of the experience which says a lot since the Lodge was just as great as the pictures show. I would highly recommend staying at this location for your visit to Kanha.

Denwa Backwater Escape

“Nature's bliss!!”

Sunpreet2015 New Delhi, India Stayed January 2016, travelled with friends

The trip to Satpura was made highly memorable with the Denwa experience, especially the setting of the resort in nature's lap, the solitude it offers by choice, the warm hospitality of the all the staff members (with a special mention for the resort managers Nipun and Archana).

“Excellent place to stay”

Highly recommend anyone planning to visit satpura to stay at Denwa. The resort has excellent facilities and the staff is really really helpful and nice. Special thanks to Harinder for arranging our safaris and showing us around the national park. We even got to see a tiger!! And the staff even arranged an amazing outdoor dinner for us on the last night, complete with a bonfire. The park itself is totally untouched and definitely a must visit for all wildlife enthusiasts

A beautiful 3 days at Denwa Backwater Escape. Best food in India! - Loved all the meals. Very attentive and happy staff made the stay even more enjoyable. Viewing wildlife was great especially Baloo..!! - Kym and Steven Davis,Australia. The location of the resort is unbeatable. Will rate the beauty as one of the beat I have ever been. Food is simple but tasty. The tree house is exceptional and very comfortable and romantic. But the best part is staff. They all deserve a big pat for making what this resort is all about. Always ready to serve you with a big smile. Will never forget the hospitality. Keep it up!!! Thank you for great great 3 nights.

Ken River Lodge

“A wonderful experience of nature”

Judith S

The lodge has a fantastic setting on the banks of the river and rooms in the forest. If you are looking for 5* luxury hotel amenities then this is not for you and you must expect the inevitable quirks of staying in a remote location. Some reviewers don't seem to have taken account of this. The central treehouse area is beautiful and views of the river incomparable. The owner and staff could not be more welcoming and accommodating. Our stay was too short but an hour on the river in the lodge rowing boat viewing birds as the sun set was one of the highlights of our entire trip to India and a walk in the forest with a local guide from the hotel was not to be missed either. If you are a nature lover go there.

“Stunning setting”

Maldon, United Kingdom Stayed February 2016, travelled as a couple

We only spent 2 nights here but I wish it could have been more. I liked our room with its spacious, rustic feel and enormous, comfortable bed, but the best bit is the tree house. This is the dining area and it overlooks the Ken River a stunning place to have breakfast or watch the sunset. The food was great and we enjoyed a jeep safari (no tigers at this time though!)

This place is amazing. Location is gorgeous in front of the river with access to a more quiet part of the national park hence more chances of seeing wild life. Away form the touristy areas with a touch of local culture and delicious food! The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, very knowledgeable about local species so wonderful safaris! The hotel itself is beautiful and blends well with the nature. Wonderful service, grounds and staff equals any top safari hotel in Tanzania. I am definitely coming back! Recommend it 100%

“Jewel on southern border of Nepal”

Donna N, Michigan Reviewed 18 February 2016

I stayed for 2 nights at this relaxing treasure in southern Nepal. It over looks the Chitwan National Park across the river. Each cabin is furnished in a tasteful safari style. It is very new so everything is in pristine condition. The naturalists are well versed in the animals and land. Everything is personalized for you. I was interested in the village traditions, so my naturalist took me on a wonderful village walk. It was wonderful to see the animals in their natural habitat. The bird life was plentiful as the winter migratory birds were still there befor their trip north over the Himalays. Don't miss Barahi Jungle Lodge and Chitwan National Park.
